Lavender – The Mother Theresa of essential oils
Lavender has been described as the Mother Theresa of essential oils due to the many benefits.
A must have in your toolkit. Even if you have no other!
Suggested uses below and I always take away with me on my travels as my first aid kit. Great for insect bites and itches, burns and to prevent infection, among all other uses.
BATH – It offers a harmonizing effect on the nervous system, add a few drops to a warm bath to relax and sleep well after a busy day.
MASSAGE – Create a massage blend, of a few drops in 15-20ml of carrier oil (jojoba, sweet almond or coconut) and massage the lower abdomen for premenstrual tension or menstrual pain. Also use for any muscular aches and pains as will relax and also alleviate pain
DIFFUSER – Add a few drops for the treatment of colds and flu, bronchitis and throat infections. Even a few drops to the base of a hot shower to enable easier breathing.
Lavender oil is associated with supporting the heart chakra. Someone whose heart chakra is in need of nourishment can become distant, antisocial, cold, critical, judgmental and lack empathy.
Physical symptoms may manifest as shortness of breath, asthma, low immunity and tension in the shoulders.
This is some of what lavender has to offer. A beautiful oil and compliments many others in its healing abilities.
